It’s a massive lesson to us all…
He owns an Off-Road Specialist Shop. If you own a jeep, a 4-wheel drive vehicle or a “tricked-out” truck in his town, then you’re likely a customer of his.
He started out as a mechanic at another shop and owned a Jeep. He rode his jeep on the weekends with a few of his buddies and had it decked-out with every accessory known to man. The thing was beautiful…
He and his buddies where pretty cool people and they steadily grew the group and eventually formed an official off-road vehicle club. They’d meet every weekend in different spots and go mud-riding or rock climbing.
He didn’t know any better, it was his passion and he couldn’t be happier.
Obviously everyone that interacted with the group saw that he had the most amazing piece of kit and he had request after request to work on vehicles and order parts for people. He started doing this on the weekends and inevitably opened his own shop.
Within months, the off-road club had grown to hundreds of members and his shop was exploding…
The club started to participate in charitable events as often as possible, making regional appearances in parades. There was a flood after a particularly heavy rain and 20 or so club members in Jeeps equipped with high-water equipment spent several days pulling stranded vehicles out of the water. All the time the legend was growing.
Several years later, in a brand new, state of the art facility, he is still just “doing his thing”….
