1. The same thing everyday – We all fall into a routine and social media posting is a classic case. Some people surf around looking for articles to read and when they find a good one, they share it…EVERY DAY. We also see people that are snap-happy and tend to take a lot of photos around the office, hence that’s all we get. Mix it up please…
  2. Selfies – I get it, you’re very good looking but after a while it gets old.
  3. Anything political, religious or controversial – NOT a good idea. Post whatever you want on your personal page (although, I’d still be careful) but if you’re a business owner, don’t post your political or religious opinions under your business name. You’ll lose roughly half your audience either way.
  4. Things NOT related to your business – It’s confusing to the viewer. People browse social media like they’re watching TV. If the History Channel starts playing Disney movies, it doesn’t make sense.
  5. Anything negative – this is a subtle one and is more related to mindset. Obviously, your audience will respond better to positivity but it’s more important to consider what it’s doing to YOU. If your business is a fountain of hope and love and all things positive then those are the things you’ll attract back to you…
